*Happy new year everyone!
In 2012 we will continue our activities on a more nomadic based platform. We will use our Mongolian Ger (and other spaces) as a projectspace on various locations in Hardanger, Norway, Finland and Iceland, for working on site with international contemporary artists and performers. For an updated program, please have a look at our homepage.

Due
to lack of funding, we were unfortunately forced to discontinue the Hardanger
Kunstsenter at it's current location in Norheimsund, Norway, after 2 years of
volunteering with over 10 exhibitions with a nice mix of local and international
artists, lectures and screenings. We will however continue to run several projects
in the region (see our news section).
In the gallery space four local artists will start Gallery Puls, with frequent
exhibitions.
Dutch artist Simone Hooijmans, now lives and works in Ålvik and Herand, Norway will show new drawings and animations. Opening Thursday 10th of February kl. 17.00

Hardanger Film Festival – Hardanger Kunstsenter

On November 14th 2010 the first Hardanger Film Festival
took place in Alvik at Alvik Kulturscene - Bedehuset in cooperation with The
One Minutes (we showed a selection of the best One Minutes). We have a focus
on short art movies (under 15 min. preferably under 10 min.). The films will
be shown from a HD-projector. A selection will later be shown in the cinema
in Norheimsund and during the travelling art-project Parousia in a Mongolian
Ger on various locations around Hardanger (more info on our site).
A small but select audience voted for the best movie which will received the
first golden apple award made by local artist Thora Solveig Bergsteinsdottir.
Winner
of the first award is Simone Hooijmans who will show new works in Hardanger
Kunstsenter in February 2011.

If you wish to have your dvd returned; please include a self addressed and stamped
envelop or pick it up yourself after the festival. The festival is supported
by: Hordaland Fylkeskommune and Kvam Herad.
Local
artist Solfrid Aksnes is working in the gallery on an installation, a special
concluding event will take place on
October 31st

During the build up the gallery will be open to the public (during opening hours) which will allows the audience to see the development and talk to the artist.
